Scott Hanna is one of the nicest guys in the comics business, and for years he has bragged to me about his gorgeous, talented fashion designer wife Pamela!
Now, you can ogle Pamela’s talents too, because she is a contestant on this season’s Project Runway!
Check out her page at the Lifetime Network website, and be sure to tune in tonight to cheer for Pamela!
See her studio, ask questions, see her portfolio!
Don’t forget to vote for the girl from Team Comics!

Favourite designer: God?
Nope. Sorry, can’t read any further.
Yeah, I thought the “god” comment was a bit facetous, but it made more sense when she went into greater depth later in the questionnaire. I watched the vid that had a glimpse of Scott Hana at the drawing board.
Dont’ know if I’ll be rooting for her or not, but she has a solid background, some great chops and a cool husband. A lot depends on who the show has set up as this season’s “bad guy”.
If it were still on Bravo I’d still be watching. But I refuse to watch the “assault a woman a week” Lifetime network. Ever.
At least the reruns of previous PR seasons are still on. Those are classics.
I usually don’t watch a lot of reality TV (no, really) but I like this show because of the emphasis on the quality of the work. Sure, there’s a lot of drama, but I am primarily interested in seeing the best person win, not the biggest show off, or the most devious person.
Either the clothes are good or they’re not.
Given that my first serious ambition in life (after my five-year-old dream of being a ballerina was shattered by learning I was going to be “too tall”) was to be a fashion designer — I’m not keen on watching others go through the paces. Because, other than the matter of custom designs requiring the designer to actually LISTEN to the client, I’m not really interested in the opinions of “Powers that Be” about what is fashionable. I’ll just go with what looks good on the person wearing the clothes (because not everyone can where what might currently be “in fashion”).
But enjoy yourselves! And her’s hoping Pamela does well!
I really love watching people who exhibit dedication to craftsmanship. Which is not merely a matter of taste. The design show focuses on what the people actually make with their own hands. I respect that.
I also like the fact that contestants aren’t all a bunch of kids. Many are mature, experienced adults.
And SQUEE! Pamela moves to the next round!
Funnily enough, I watched it last night and discovered that one of the contestants is someone I knew briefly years ago. It was a strange sort of realization that yes, these are in fact real people.
I like this show as well as Top Chef for the same reasons you do, Colleen. First, that they are competing and being judged on actual skill, knowledge, and craftsmanship, and secondly, that some of them are old enough to rent a car.
There was talk of a similar show for artists. That sounds terrible, though!
