A very early model sheet for Jason, drawn when I was in high school. If anyone doubts Jason’s origin, Legion of Superheroes fans will recognize that hairdo: it’s Element Lad’s.
That coat looks like I’d been watching Space Cruiser Yamato. Star Blazers had it’s original US run while I was working on this.
I’ll be posting more from my sketch files until I get back on schedule with my book publishing work. I’m in the deadline doghouse.
Also, I want to tell you how much I appreciate you sticking around as I slow down my blogging and posting. While we’re not getting the page views we once enjoyed since I cut back, the size of our readership hasn’t gone down at all. I truly appreciate that.
I thought it was Aeren. Heehee I first saw Star Blazers on TV in Michigan when I was perhaps eight years old. Or was that Battle of the Planets? Oh dear… I’m getting old!

Sorry Arlene, we’ve lost a few comments over the last week or so. The notifications come to different mailboxes, and depending on where I am that day, if I click the wrong button I think I’ve approved the comment when I’ve actually deleted it. I am sorry. Most registered users comments go right through with no need for approval from me, but sometimes the spaminator flags them. It’s random, it appears.
