This piece was originally used as a cover for an early, discarded edition of A Distant Soil. It has been out of print since 1985. It is rendered in colored ink and colored pencil on board. This art was shot by a professional photographer, and a scan was made from the transparencies. All you young whipper snappers who never had to use a photographer to archive your art, note that every time I had to shoot a piece, it cost $150-$200. No matter how expensive your scanner and computer is, it is not nearly as expensive as archiving originals the old way.

awwww Chris
I’m afraid he’s not going to be feeling any better.
*solemn intonation* The black guy always gets it first.
Yeah, that’s a shame. If I’d been more aware of that cliche, I might have made another choice. I liked Chris a lot. Based him on a guy I knew in school, Jeff Evans. A swell fellow. I intended a really good person to go so poor Brent could have his “Only the good die young,” moment. And Chris is a very good guy.
BTW, my internet is really messed up right now. I have a serious transmitter problem. I can’t go online much. So, no LOLCats.
I had this female high school friend who I killed off in a story. Another friend of ours did, too. She seemed to find black humor in this.
