One of my most loyal supporters has fallen on hard times. She bought this cover painting of Kovar some time ago, but needs to sell it. She asked me to sell it on her behalf.
This painting of Kovar was used as the back cover of an issue of A Distant Soil. It is Genesis Oils on board, archival quality, measuring 8″x10″. This is a very reasonable price for a painting by me, as my color commissions start at $250.
SOLD THANK YOU!
Most of my future cover art will be digital.
This sale is an emergency sale, and the prince’s price is final. First come, first served.

Glad it sold – sorry it was an emergency sale. Would have snapped it up if I had not just returned from Baltimore comic con where I spent too much. (yet again!)
It went for a very good price. Sorry, Miki.
I’ve got some trademark fees to pay, and some other very large upcoming A Distant Soil expenses, so I am going to put several of my last cover paintings up for sale, including the original graphic novel covers.
I’ll accept installment payments. Please inquire,
Perhaps I can inquire in New York.
Okey dokey! The third volume cover of A Distant Soil is also for sale, but I won’t be bringing it. Too big! And it looks a hell of a lot better than the printed version.
that’s the wraparound cover,right? *drool*
maybe you can release the color corrected cover as a print? one of my faves…
We did a very limited edition print of it some years back, and the print looked great. The colors glowed. Turns out the cover repro did not go well because the photographer of the art did not know to save the digital file at high res. So he gave me a good transperancy of the art, and a low res digital file. He did the same with the Orbiter cover.
I cannot express how hard it was to get good digial archive ten years ago and more. Every yahoo in publishing had just acquired a scanner and few knew how to use them.
I’m still learning how to get the best out of my scanner. Heh. I recently scanned all my artwork from a journal, covering over ten years of illustrations. I’d sold almost all the originals years ago, and never kept track of who had what. So, for some of these things, scanning the printed version is the only thing I’ll have. Live and learn.
But oooooo! Originals of Colleen’s! Oh, to have some spending money! *sigh* (I hope you get really good prices for everything!)
