• SERE

Colored pencil portrait. Even though Sere is a very distasteful character, many fans have requested a portrait of her. A lot of people assume pencil must be easier to work in than other mediums, but it is very laborious and colored pencil doesn’t usually print very well. This sketch was drawn in someone’s book, and if I weren’t concerned about harming the book, I’d have painted it in watercolor. You guys keep signing up for my Patreon and I am truly grateful! We’vesurpassed level 1, we are over 20% on the way to level 2! THANK THANK THANK YOU! When we reach level 2, you get 12 NEW pages of…

  • Triad

This is a really early drawing, and since it predates the digital age I don’t have a clear scan of the pencil work. Image used it as a frontispiece at some point and did some tweaking, hence the heavy line around the art. I’d been meaning to do this in color at some point, but I decided to just move on and create something new instead. Patreon has surpassed level 1, we are 20% on the way to level 2! THANK THANK THANK YOU! When we reach level 2, you get 12 NEW pages of A DISTANT SOIL a month, over a YEAR before anyone else sees them!

  • Battle

This is a really early cover that depicts a scene no longer in the series. Colored inks, and colored pencil. I haven’t reused this piece in the current edition. My Patreon is up and running and I am posting regularly and often! In the last 30 days, I posted revised pages from issue 37. I also posted excerpts from my original novel about Jason and Liana’s father Aeren as well as excerpts from the A Distant Soil data files, wallpapers, and lots of other content. I also regularly post creator rights info and tips. I hope you will consider supporting my Patreon! Levels begin at only $1 per month! Levels…

  • Minetti by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez

This was done for an A Distant Soil pinup book. I own this, and it hangs in my studio. Garcia Lopez is one of my all-time favorite artists and I was so thrilled to get him to do this. Thanks to my agent Spencer Beck for hooking us up. MY PATREON IS NOW UP. I’m really pleased to say that I have already sent out incentives and am posting previously unpublished work almost DAILY.

  • Aeren

Fundraiser print, this one recently completed and going out as an extra with late Seren/D’mer prints, and for Patreon supporters. Aeren is the father of Jason and Liana, a legendary figure on Ovanan, a lover and a fighter and a bit of a rogue. I have so many back stories about this guy, I will never live long enough to tell them in comic form, but I am working on a novel. Have you seen my Patreon? Cool stuff. And the best thing is, Image Comics/Shadowline boss Jim Valentino has given me permission to post finished A Distant Soil pages there as I go. Patreon supporters get first look. Become…

  • My Patreon is LIVE! And the final copies of the donation incentive print go out next week.

THE FINAL IMAGE! I figure since the printer tells me I will have the rest of the prints next week, I might as well post it! Seren and D’mer, the final art. Really sorry this took so long, I’m sure I mentioned before how I had accidentally saved the final copy of the original digital art as a low res jpg and it was ages before I realized what I had done. I had to do it over. Oh, well, looks better this time anyway. My PATREON is live, and I am happy to say we roared past the first goal. This is amazing! I will use this money to…
