A DISTANT SOIL: The Ascendant Chapter 3 Page 11

The comic returns on Monday for five days a week space opera goodness! Thanks so much for reading!

If you’re arriving here the first time, enjoy your holiday, sit back, and have some webcomics!

If the traffic on the site continues to improve, I can maintain the five days a week updates through 2010. If not, I may cut back to 3 or 4 days. We will see. I was going to cut back in January, but I will keep up the five days posting until March at least. Let’s see what happens!

Your vote makes me dance and sing! YAY! Thank you!!!

And if you want to take a moment and comment about your Christmas, that would be cool!

Well, it’s twenty minutes past eleven on Christmas Eve here in the distant soil of merrie olde England, and the countdown to Christmas is well and truly underway. The fairy lights on the tree illuminate the gifts artistically arranged beneath, and, in festive mood, I type this missive on my favourite blog while I wait patiently to hear slay bells in the snow. Except, er, there’s no snow.

Anyway — best wishes to one and all. I hope you have the Christmas you desire.

My Christmas started early when Roger Ebert printed my letter asking about his take on the “Last Airbender” casting fail. And agreed with me.

    Twelve thumbs up all around!

Right now I’m cooking roast beast and potatoes and green beans. I’m debating giving the Yorkshire pudding a shot this year even though I’m the only one who eats it. Hm. THen we’re going to drive through the holiday light display down in the park, which is done at night with the headlights off and a cup of cocoa in your hand as you creep along. It’s awesome.

    Happy everything, everyone.

Allan… you have bells that ring out at a killing? Weird.
    😀

(Oh, come on. How can I not jump on a fun typo like that — “slay” for “sleigh”? Hee!)

Yes… my Christmas spirit is a bit wacky. After all, my choice for a holiday movie today is *Sherlock Holmes*.

    Have a wonderful day, all!

Scribbler, Allan’s “slay bells” don’t ring out at a killing, they’re lethal weapons in and of themselves. Allan is quite the badass.

Arlnee, your Christmas dinner is a near mirror-image of ours. My girlfriend and I created our own Christmas tradition of roast beast, smashed potatoes, peas with pearl onions, and Yorkshire pudding.

As for presents, I got a Garmin, two nice shirts, some dress socks, and a gift card with just enough money to buy me the pieces for a workbench to put in my new house. Most important, however, was the gift of spending time with my girlfriend and family. Trite, but true.
