Troll Bridge Cover development

This is the original Troll Bridge illustration which appeared in A DISTANT SOIL 25. I adapted the Neil Gaiman short story for comics in an 8 page black and white version, didn’t like it, and redid it this year as a painted graphic novel for Dark Horse, with the kind support of Neil. The book ended up spending a nice several weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, which was a nice surprise.

I was asked not to do the new project in watercolor, because a lot of clients prefer digital art, but the painting probably would have gone faster since I really didn’t know how to do this sort of digital painting when I started! Well, now I do.

Here is a comparison with the new cover.

I’m not sure your book will arrive by Christmas at this late date, but if you order a copy from me, you get nice extras.

You can also order from any online retailer or your comic shop. One shop told me he’s reordered three times already! What a nice bit of news that is.

Glad you were able to get another opportunity to work on this story. The results are amazing!

On a website matter, when I went to the site using my cellphone network, there was no problem but when I tried to connect via the wifi in my apartment, I got a message that the IP address was blacklisted. Struck me as odd and I wasn’t sure where to post this.

Anyways, the book is a great read and a wonderful addition on its bookshelf.
